About Omaha’s

Abbie Rice-Harvey

My name is Abbie (Rice) Harvey. I am happily married to my husband Nick and we have 3 children: Jaxson, Tyson, and Leah.

I received my ACSM Personal Training certification in 2010 and worked at the YMCA for almost 3 years. I opened Diamond Fitness in 2014. I am passionate about fitness and nutrition but also personal wellness and happiness.

We moved to Elkhorn in 2011 and have fallen in love with Olde Towne Elkhorn. It was my dream to open a studio on Main Street, and it came true in 2019.

My personal path to health and wellness was a little bumpy. As a child I was overweight, had bad eating habits, was inactive, and struggled with undiagnosed depression. When I began high school I started playing competitive sports which required daily practices (activity). I also began to eat healthier and work on my portion control. As a result, I lost weight and graduated high school strong, active, and healthy.

Then I started college. Freshman 15 right? Not me! My passion for the weight room began in college.  Unfortunately, that passion soon turned to obsession and I struggled with body image issues, anorexia, and bulimia. That lasted about 18 months but luckily without any intervention I got healthy again. I still struggle with those issues daily but I have chosen that they won’t defeat me. By the end of college I was again healthy, active, and now married.

Then real life came along. In my first few years of having a “real job” and then my first child, my fitness slacked a bit as life got in the way. A few months before I got pregnant with my second child I rediscovered my passion for working out and that is when I decided to get certified as a personal trainer. I wanted a job that I could share my passion and that I could be proud of. After my second child, I quit my full time job to focus on my kids and my training career. I’ve never looked back!

I continue to expand my business and my knowledge. In 2017, I became Yoga Instructor certified. I believe yoga is something everyone needs in their life. It is an excellent way to stretch out tight and sore muscles after workouts. It keeps muscles loose and joints functioning properly. But there is a deeper benefit to yoga that involves teaching relaxation and breathing techniques that help to relieve stress. We live in a stressful world and stress creates so many health problems. Lowering your stress levels both physically and mentally can improve your health immensely. If you have never tried yoga before, check out my Shine Yoga & Wellness page–it’s a perfect place for beginners.
